Dr. Stephens - Urban Health Advocate

His roots of desire to see health change are derived from being a clinician in one of the nation's most economically depressed and unhealthy cities until recently it's slow upward change.  Gary Indiana, the home of the Jackson  5 was not always like that. It was a  prosperous city when he left for college. On his return ten years later it was an economic disaster as the steel mills downsized and the residents left. It became a food and health  desert.  The drugs ran the community and murder was high.  The death rate of preventable disease was enormous. 

This burning desire guided him to make inroads to the underserved populations.. He added to his private practice.. nursing home dental  care. Then public health department care, antidrug motivation and the church based health initiatives. These activities blended into his ministry call and created blueprint to get the Local churches to start filling in the gaps.

For years he has broadcast a weekly radio show ..based on motivational  health and wellness with A splash of Jesus. This one show takes account of his years of advocacy and ministry to help uplift the mind, body and soul. This show was a vital help during the Pandemic. Nothing beats Live radio where thousands have been helped . He does research on how positive messaging, is God messaging and how it improves health. You can hear that show Live... 9am Central every Wednesday morning.. WLTH 1370 am/97.2 FM  streaming world wide and on Face Book via WLTH 1370. His podcast can be found on major platforms.
